Joshua D. Cohen, M.D., F.A.C.C., F.S.C.A.I.
Dr. Joshua D. Cohen is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He has a total of six board certifications. Dr. Cohen is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography, Vascular Medicine, Interventional Cardiology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Cohen completed his General and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship, Residency and received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of California, San Francisco. He received his undergraduate degree with distinction from Stanford University.
Dr. Cohen has received many awards including the Stanley J. Sarnoff Endowment for Cardiovascular Science Research Fellowship and served as Chief Fellow at the University of California, San Francisco Division of Cardiology. He is a member of both the Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha honor societies. Press Ganey ranks him in the top 20th percentile in the country among physicians whose patients rate their physicians as friendly and courteous.
Dr. Cohen serves on the Cardiology Executive Committee and Endovascular Committee at Banner Desert Medical Center. Dr. Cohen is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, the American Society of Echocardiography, the Society of Vascular Medicine and Biology, the American Society of Nuclear Medicine, the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Cohen has special interests in interventional cardiology with a focus on peripheral vascular interventions and non-coronary interventions. He is trained in all the latest interventional techniques including laser atherectomy, cryoplasty, and stenting. Dr. Cohen is one of the few cardiologists in the East Valley with training and experience in carotid artery stenting for stroke prevention.
Dr. Cohen’s extensive research experience includes both basic science and clinical research projects. He has published papers on cardiovascular physiology, protein biochemistry, and new interventional cardiology techniques and devices. Dr. Cohen is currently involved in a clinical trial using stem cells to treat patients with heart failure. |
