Rodrigo C. Chan, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Dr. Rodrigo C. Chan is Board Certified in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiovascular Medicine and Internal Medicine. Dr. Chan trained at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine where he completed his Cardiac Electrophysiology and his Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship. While completing his Internal Medicine Residency at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, Dr. Chan concurrently did research at Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Medicine.
Dr. Chan specializes in Electrophysiology including heart rhythm assessment and diagnostics, pacemaker and implantable cardiac defibrillator implantation and management, electrical cardioversion and radiofrequency ablation. Dr. Chan is a member of American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, American Society of Internal Medicine and American Medical Association. As a well respected physician and lecturer, Dr. Chan has made numerous presentations at the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiologists.
Dr. Chan complements his education with extensive medical research and is passionate about advancing the treatment of heart disease. He has several notable publications and has participated in major clinical trials involving the use of cutting edge technologies in catheter ablations and new indications for device implantation. Dr. Chan is known for first implanting the smallest cardiac defibrillator.
Dr. Chan is a well respected physician and holds top hospital Medical Staff leadership positions including Chief of Medicine at Banner Baywood Heart Hospital. He is on the Executive Committee of Tri-City Cardiology and is currently the Medical Director of the Device Clinic. Dr. Chan lectures locally and nationally to physicians, healthcare providers and patients on vital issues and topics involving preventive cardiology, congestive heart failure, sudden cardiac death and diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmia with medications, RF ablations and device therapy. He has been the recipient of the prestigious Banner Heart Hospital Guardian.
