Marc J. Berkowitz, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Dr. Joshua Berkowitz is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology and Internal Medicine. He completed his Fellowship in General Cardiovascular Medicine and Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Berkowitz completed his residency and internship in Medicine at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center after earning his Doctorate of Medicine from New York University. Dr. Berkowitz moved from New York and joined Tri-City Cardiology in 2006.
Dr. Berkowitz specializes in coronary and peripheral arterial disease diagnosis and treatment, with expertise in new non-surgical less invasive treatment including endovascular carotid and lower extremity stenting. His medical interests include diabetic coronary artery disease and strategies for optimal anti-coagulation in the catheterization laboratory.
Dr. Berkowitz complements his education with extensive medical research. Publications in the areas of cardiac stenting, cardiogenic shock and PFO closure can be found in peer-reviewed journals such as Circulation and The American Journal of Cardiology. Dr. Berkowitz continues to strive to bring the newest and most advance therapies for cardiac disease.
Press Ganey, a renowned national research firm, ranks him in the top 20th percentile in the country among physicians whose patients would likely recommend his practice to friends and family. Dr. Berkowitz is a member of American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, American Society of Internal Medicine and American Medical Association.
